40 and Fabulous

I was a little indifferent about having a 40th birthday get together until I went shopping and happened to find this little red dress that had a mind of its own. So I had a get together with some of my girlfriends.

40 feels good so far. I realize life is short and getting shorter. No time to waste. And sometimes people tell you more by what they do or don't do than what they say and claim. Time is of the essence. I need to do what I want to do now. No time to wait and waste. Life is too short.

Progress!

I began seeing a personal trainer twice a week in mid-January. Last week was six weeks into it so my measurements were retaken. I've:

  • Lost 4 pounds
  • Lost 1 inch in my bust
  • Lost 1 inch in my waist
  • Lost 1 inch in my hips
  • Lost 1/2 inch in my thighs
  • Lost 1% of my body fat
I'm really the most excited about the body fat lost. I'm not focused so much on weight. I just want to be healthy, toned, and fit.

I turned 40 this month, and 40 years from now, I want to be healthy and active so I need to start now!

My goal is to have an average of 30 minutes of exercise sevens days a week. So, basically I have my two workouts, and I walk to/from my bus stop five days a week, and that takes care of my goal.

I am also trying to walk during lunch and get off my bus earlier to supplement.

I feel good, and I am sleeping better! I will get remeasured in six weeks.

I figure I need to invest in my future today.

Spring Emerges

After what feels like a long winter, spring is starting to emerge. It was 61 today according to my phone. I saw people in t-shirts, shorts, and sandals. It's not THAT warm out, but it feels good!

I love when the trees start to blossom, March 5.

Beautiful day to walk on the waterfront, February 28.

Walking on the waterfront today. The Olympics, grain vessels awaiting berth, and I saw a seal frolicking in the water.
NYK Trees blossoming yesterday.
And here we were February 8. How things can change in a month.
